Egyptian red Aswan granite hippopotamus

Large Egyptian red Aswan granite hippopotamus with its typical barrel-shaped body, short legs and very large head. In ancient Egypt, people had an ambivalent relationship with hippos. Although the animals were endowed with positive qualities, they were also feared as dangerous.
